Winners trip to WCG finals

Alan Joseph was declared the Canadian champion of Virtua Fighter 5, Alan a resident of Mississauga has earned himself a trip to the World Cyber Games in Germany by besting a field of Canada’s best players at the national video gaming championships in Montreal. Virtua Fighter 5 played on the Xbox 360 after a three day competition that was sponsored by Samsung Electronics and which also happens to be based in Mississauga.
There are more than 400 rounds of games were played over Labor Day weekend and in front of an estimated 30,000 spectators who were wowed by the performances on a variety of games. Alan Joseph is one of the four players on individual games to earn berths at the WCG in Cologne Germany, while five other players will compete as a team on Counter-Strike and four more will play Halo 3.
The winning Canadian gamers will each receive airfare and accommodations in Cologne and the chance to win more than $500,000(U.S.) in cash and prizes at the World Cyber Games Grand Final
